Mr. Don Woolum, 75, of Barbourville, passed away Friday afternoon, August 16, 2024.  He was the son of the late Charles Thomas and Rosie Carnes Woolum born on December 19, 1948 in Pineville.

Don was a former truck driver and a member of the Salem Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, a little gambling and loved to make people laugh.  He also played the guitar and enjoyed singing gospel and folk music.  Don most loved spending time with his family.

On July 8, 1967, he united in marriage with Blanche Messer for 27 years and to this union two children were born.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Gambrel and two brothers, Jerry and Elmer Ray Woolum.

Survivors include his loving children, Lavonda Lynn Jones and Ricky Mills of Corbin and Donald Steven Woolum and Janet Haynes of London; a brother, Byron Dewayne Woolum and wife, Louise, of Flat Lick; grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Hall, Eric Tyler Jones and wife, Autumn, Tiffany Nicole Farris and husband, Brandon, Steven Blake Woolum and girlfriend, Kendra, Kathryn Lynn Hope and husband, Aaron, and Chaz Kedan Woolum; great grandchildren, Jace Hunter, Jaxson Layne, Peyton Jordan, Bryson Clay, Lucas Tyler, Channing Brooks, Lincoln Stiles and Hudson Cruz; former son-in-law, Kenneth Robert Jones; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, August 23 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Donnie Mills and Rev. Bud Sizemore officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery in Corbin.

Casket bearers will be Eric Jones, Blake Woolum, Chaz Woolum, Jessica Hall, Ben Parker, Kevin Parker and Eric Mills.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
