Mrs. Shirley Wilson, 72, of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday morning, February 8, 2023 at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was the daughter of the late George Pridemore and Ellen Knuckles France born on April 15, 1950 in Knox County.

Shirley was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She enjoyed tending flowers, fishing and going to the flea markets.

She first united in marriage with Larry Hubbs and to this union two sons were born and later to Jeffrey W. Wilson.

Survivors include her loving husband, Jeffrey W. Wilson of Barbourville; two sons, Terry Hubbs and wife, Kathleen, of Corbin and Gary Hubbs and wife, Marsha, of Gray; three treasured grandchildren, Maggie, Lily Kate and Jasper Isaac Hubbs; nieces, Faynell Purdue and husband, Bob, and Sue Ellen Cox; nephews, William Robert Moore Jr. and Leondas Moore and wife, Rebecca; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, February 14 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Dr. Bobby Drew Lawson officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Morris Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Shelby Johnson, Ethan Warren, Walt Hopper, David Hopper, Joe Hopper and Gary Hubbs.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Tuesday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
