WILSON, Lloyd (1930 – 2019)

Mr. Lloyd Wilson, 89, of Woodbine, passed away Monday evening, September 16, 2019 at his home.  He was the son of the late William “Bill” and Julia Cox Wilson born on June 1, 1930 in Knox County.

Lloyd was a retired arc welder with General Electric and of the Baptist faith.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering with old cars and was an avid Cincinnati Reds and UK Wildcats fan.

He united in marriage with Gladys Manis and later to Lorene Ridner and Naomi Teegarden who both preceded in death.

In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Dessie Cleo Wilson, Ruby Mahan, Ardithearl Wilson and Arbuties Powers; two brothers, Roy Estil and Jack Wilson; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, William Lloyd Wilson of Woodbine, Roy Jack Wilson and wife, Michelle Lynn, of Cincinnati, OH and Lola Mae Wilson of Woodbine; four step-children, Jane Turner and husband, Dan, of Falmouth, Cathy McComas of Falmouth, Everett Anderson and wife, Gail, of Harrison, OH and Rick Anderson and his wife, of Corbin; two sisters, Cleda Jones of Barbourville and Elvalene Wilson Poff Bryant of Chatsworth, GA; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; special friends, Curt Evans, Junior Peace and James “Duerell” Logan; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, September 22 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Jimmy Wayne Miller officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Wilson Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Brett Frederick, Casey Mills, Derek Lawson and Gary Rose.  Serving as an honorary bearer will be Curt Evans.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
