Mr. Wendell Don Wagers, 53, of Cannon, passed away Saturday morning, August 24, 2024 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.  He was the son of the late L. R. Wagers and Lucille Miracle Wagers Hale born on January 10, 1971 in Elkhart, IN.

Wendell was a truck driver and a member of the Rivers of Living Waters Pentecostal Church.  He enjoyed going to the junkyard, flea markets and working on small engines.  He also loved to fish, camp and could cook just about anything. Most precious to him was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

On July 31, 1991, he united in marriage with Judy Ann Gray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Lonnie Rhodes; a brother, Louis Hale; grandmother, Roxy Miracle and an aunt, Nora Gibson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Judy Wagers of Cannon; dearly loved children, Mary Guy and husband, Jason, of Cannon, Cynthia Collett and husband, Johnnie, of Girdler, Christopher Wagers and fiancé, Maggie Lanham, of Corbin, Megan Mills and husband, Drew, of Barbourville, Lillian Wagers and fiancé, Jacob Vaughn, of Gray, Hannah Wagers and Joseph Wagers both of Cannon; sisters, Birtie Wagers-Almgren and husband, Wayne, of London, Lisa Wagers-McKinny of Georgetown, Iva Wagers and husband, Omar Corona, of Annville, Rita Delcarez of Texas, Noranda Hale and Samantha Hale both of London; brothers, Roy Fischer of Barbourville, Eddie Fischer of Elkhart, IN, Marvin Edwards and Kenny Dale Flowers both of Lexington; six treasured grandchildren, Lexa Collett, Tanner Collett, Lyla Mills, J. C. Guy, Lucas Guy and Kobe Guy; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, August 29 at 3 P.M. with Rev. Wayne Holder and Rev. Randy Clark officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Johnnie Collett, Drew Mills, Jacob Vaughn, Jacob Johnson, Eddie Fischer and Gary King Sr.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday after 1 P.M. until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
