Mrs. Elizabeth “Peggy” Trent, 77, of Girdler, passed away Tuesday evening, February 11, 2020 at St. Joseph-London. She was the daughter of the late Chester and Agnes Allen Hughes born on October 24, 1942 in Knox County.

Peggy was a former supervisor with GTE in Lexington and attended the Antioch Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, talking on the phone, tending flowers and watching television, especially Days of Our Lives.

In July 1960, she united in marriage with Curtis Dale Trent and to this union three children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Allen Trent and two brothers, Willard and Roger Hughes.

Survivors include her loving husband, Curtis Dale Trent of Girdler; two sons, Ricky and Eric Allen Trent both of Barbourville; two sisters, Barbara Hughes of Barbourville and Kay Blevins and husband, Don, of Bimble; a brother, Dee Hughes and wife, Glenna, of London; a granddaughter, Ashley Trent; three great grandchildren, Ashton, Talon and Kaiah; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Foster and Zeke Trent and Carolyn Wombles and husband, David; a brother-in-law, Doyle Trent and wife, Barbara; a special niece, Doylynn Hoskins; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, February 17 at 2 P.M. Rev. William R. “Man” Cobb officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Payne Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Ricky Trent, Terry Bullock, Jeff Blevins, Zach Blevins and Eli Blevins.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Monday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
