Mr. Donald C. Treadway, 93, of Corbin, formerly of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday morning, January 31, 2023 at his home.  He was the son of the late Sherley H. and Sallie Frederick Treadway born on January 21, 1930 in Barbourville.

Don was a former co-owner of Treadway Brothers and of the Methodist faith.  He enjoyed staying busy at tasks like working in the yard or working on his rental properties.  He dearly loved his family including his nieces and nephews.  He faithfully served our country for 20 years in the Kentucky Army National Guard and retired with the rank of captain.

On August 29, 1959, he united in marriage with Jeanne Ramsey and to this union two daughters were born.

Survivors include his dearly loved daughters, Donna Treadway of Corbin and Diane Ashley of Lexington; a sister, Janice Wieland of Cincinnati, OH; a brother, Shirley “Buck” Treadway of Barbourville; treasured grandchildren, Sarah Ashley of Durham, NC and Katie Ashley of New York City, NY; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Due to inclement weather, Don’s memorial service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, February 11 at 1 P.M. with military funeral honors.

Honorary bearers will be former employees of Treadway Brothers.

Friends may visit at the cemetery prior to the service time.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the First United Methodist Church of Barbourville at 312 N Main St, Barbourville, KY 40906 in his memory.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
