Mrs. Maxine Thomas, 82, of Hamilton, OH, passed away Tuesday evening, May 24, 2022 at the Hospice of Cincinnati Care Center in Hamilton.  She was the daughter of the late Garfield and Minnie Jones Osborne born on August 16, 1939 in Barbourville.

Maxine was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching gospel television shows and especially loved taking care of her grandchildren.

On October 28, 1957, she united in marriage with Lawrence L. Thomas and to this union three children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; sisters, Patsy Osborne and Vida June Elliott; a brother, Douglas Osborne and a daughter-in-law, June Thomas.

Survivors include her three beloved children, Rondal Thomas and Anna Floyd both of Hamilton, OH and Gloria Terrell of Burnside; sisters, Bobbie Combs and husband, Benton, of Barbourville, Drucilla Lockard and Alma Osborne both of Artemus; brothers, E. G. Osborne and wife, Carol, of Artemus, Benny Osborne and wife, Carla, of Bimble and Denver Osborne of Gray; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Brandie and Bobbi Floyd, Tyler Terrell, Leah, Veronica and Dakota Thomas and Rocky Abbott and wife, Dana; seven great grandchildren, Nathan Floyd and wife, Jasmine, Colton Bailey, Tatiana and Isabella Floyd, Amorah Terrell, Rocky Abbott Jr., Elisabeth Abbott and one expected to arrive soon; a great-great grandson, Nathan Floyd Jr.; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, May 31 at 2 P.M. with Rev. James Isom and Rev. Ken Merida officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Burch-Alford Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be John Bunch, Zach Bunch, Tyler Terrell, Cody Thomas, Colton Bailey, Chris Osborne and Boo Osborne.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

The family requests that all visitors wear a facial covering and practice social distancing during the visitation and funeral service.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
