Mrs. Tamera Denise Swafford, 63, of Barbourville, passed away Friday morning, October 27, 2023 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Arnold Davis and Arlone Wilson Davis Bryant born on February 11, 1960 in Pineville.

Tami was a former resource center director with the Knox County Board of Education, former owner of Tamera’s Formals and a member of the Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church.  She enjoyed fashion and preparing contestants for beauty pageants, decorating her home, fishing and spending time with family.

On May 24, 1980, she united in marriage with Bill C. Swafford and to this union a son was born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Chester Bryant.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 43 years, Bill C. Swafford of Barbourville; a son, Bradley Swafford of Lexington; sisters, Deborah Davis Gray of Barbourville and Joyce Landrum of Columbus, OH; brother, Wayne Bryant and wife, Vicki, of The Villages, FL; a special nephew, Brent Gray and wife, Valerie, of Barbourville; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted at the Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church Wednesday, November 1 at 3 P.M. with Rev. Sam Lawson, Rev. Duke Hammons and Rev. William R. “Man” Cobb officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Tuggle – Doolin Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be her nephews.

Friends may visit at the church Wednesday after 1 P.M. until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
