Mr. Kenneth Mickhal Smith, 69, of Heidrick, passed away Sunday morning, November 22, 2020 at his home. He was the son of the late Chris and Martha Mae Hamilton Smith born on July 6, 1951 in Knox County.
Kenneth was a retired CSX Railroad conductor and a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army and enjoyed gardening, car shows, riding four-wheelers and was a Hot Rod enthusiast. He dearly loved time spent with family and friends.
On September 15, 1973, he united in marriage with Dinah Ramsey and to this union two children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Sue Smith and Elizabeth Smith Powell; three brothers, Chris “Junebug” Smith, Paul Smith and Harry Smith and a nephew, Danny Earl Powell.
Survivors include two beloved children, Sabrina Ann Smith of Barbourville and Paul Kenneth Smith of Lexington; a sister, Kathy Smith of Barbourville; two brothers, Phillip Smith and wife, Gladys, of Barbourville and Doug Smith of Ft. Myers, FL; nieces and nephews, Jeanine, Kelly, Chris, Duke and Matthew; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A private family funeral will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, November 27 with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Jared Styles officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Charles Stargel and Dr. Abigail Byrnes.
Expressions of sympathy may go to Bluegrass Hospice Care in his memory.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.

Any person entering the funeral home is expected to be wearing a face covering of some kind at all times including graveside services and maintain the six feet of social distance.
