SMITH, Harold E. (1956 – 2019)
Mr. Harold Edward Smith, 62, of Girdler, passed away Friday afternoon, May 3, 2019 at Baptist Health Lexington. He was the son of the late Thomas Joe Smith Sr. and Brenda Joyce Roark Smith born on October 10, 1956 in Pineville.
Harold was a former mechanic with G & M Oil and of the Baptist faith. He was a gun enthusiast and spending time with his family. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army as a member of the 101st Airborne Division.
On February 2, 1985, he united in marriage with Maudine “Peg” Abner.
Survivors include his loving wife, Maudine “Peg” Smith of Girdler; two children, Jennifer Hoover and husband, Chris, of Anderson, IN and Brandon Smith of Girdler; step-children, Wendy Hubbs and husband, Ricky, of Keavy and Robert Walter Hamilton of Corbin; three brothers, Thomas Joe Smith Jr. of Boone Heights, Marty D. Smith and wife, Noria, of Dewitt and Tony Lynn Smith and wife, Kim, of London; three grandchildren, Olivia, Willow and River; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, May 7 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Oakley Vaughn and Rev. Roy Anthony Vaughn officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Binghamtown Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Tuesday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements will be under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
