SMALLWOOD, Charles B. (1981 – 2019)

Mr. Charles Bishop “Chachie” Smallwood, 37, of Cannon, passed away Friday morning, June 7, 2019 at his home.  He was the son of Pauline Gray Smallwood Doolin and the late Oakley Smallwood Jr. born on November 12, 1981 in Barbourville.

Chachie was an auto detailer, a former employee of the Appalachian Children’s Home and a member of the Barbourville Church of God.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On September 29, 2001, he united in marriage with Jackie Dizney and to this union two children were born.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Georgia Gray; in-laws, Rev. Johnny and Virginia Dizney; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Warren and a cousin, Rocky Evans.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jackie “Peach” Smallwood of Cannon; his mother, Pauline Doolin of Boone Heights; two children, Cameron Bishop Smallwood and Isabella Grace Smallwood both of Cannon; a sister, Beth Smallwood of Bimble; his grandparents, Amanda and Oakley Smallwood Sr.; nieces and nephews, Malachi Castle, Gavin Castle, Marlee Daniels, Tyler Warren and Sara Warren; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, June 12 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Sylvester Dunn and Rev. Samuel Lawson officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Mays Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Chris Deaton, Shawn Ballou, Mitchell Matlock, Matthew Merritt, Jordan Lawson, Donnie Hudson, Gilbert Saylor, James Parker, Ron Pierce and Billy Castle.  Serving as honorary bearers will be the staff of the Appalachian Children’s Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
