Ms. Megan Noelle Simpson, 36, of Davis Bend, passed away Sunday evening, January 4, 2026 at her home. She was born December 28, 1989 in Barbourville, the daughter of the late Kevin Scott Simpson and Elizabeth Noelle Ensslin Lake.
Megan was a former office manager and peer support specialist and a member of the Apple Grove Baptist Church. Megan Noelle Simpson was a woman with a big heart, a beautiful soul and a love that knew no bounds.
More than anything, Megan cherished being a mom. Her greatest joy came from making memories with her precious children, Jaxon, Sawyer and Charlie, and her beloved nephew, Karson. They were her heart, her purpose and her greatest pride.
Megan had a gift for bringing light into dark places. She loved to make people laugh and see others smile, especially during times of despair. She carried a playful spirit and found joy in pranking those she loved, most especially her fiancé, Jamie.
She was deeply passionate about advocating for addiction awareness and recovery, always striving to help others find hope, healing and a path forward. Megan loved Jesus and was a devoted Christian, who truly believed in the power of prayer. In moments of hopelessness, she found reassurance through her faith and the loving guidance of her MiMi Paulette.
Megan was brave and fearless, never backing down from any obstacle she faced. She was outspoken, bold and unafraid to say what everyone else was thinking, just like her treasured Mamaw Helen.
She was a loyal friend, a devoted sister to three brothers she adored and an identical twin, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. So close were they that they were often spoken of as one, Megan and Morgan, a true unit in every sense of the word.
Megan was known by many names, Mommy, Mom, Meggie Moo, Meg, Brama, and she will always be remembered for the profound impact she made on the lives of her family, friends and community.
As we reflect on Megan’s life, we hold close the words of scripture:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
—Matthew 11:28
