SENTERS, J. E. (1934 – 2019)
Mr. J. E. Senters, 85, of Mackey Bend, passed away Tuesday evening, June 18, 2019 at his home. He was the son of the late Nathan and Allie Mae Logan Senters born on April 17, 1934 at Anchor.
Mr. Senters was a former coal miner and attended the New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and repairing small engines.
On September 6, 1958, he united in marriage with Amanda Smith and to this union two children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Chelsie Warfield and Jewell Couch; four brothers, Otis, Ernest, Jack and June Senters and a grandson, James Delynn Powers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Amanda Senters of Mackey Bend; two children, Vicky Partin and husband, Gary, of Rockholds and Delinda Powers Marshall and husband, Mike, of Manchester; two sisters, Mary Killion of Detroit, MI and Wilma Sue Smith and husband, James, of Gray; two brothers, Clarence Senters of Mackey Bend and Jim Senters and wife, Jewell, of Goshen, OH; three grandchildren, Vanessa Sibert and husband, Ray, Jason Partin and wife, Holly, and Michael Jay Powers and wife, Serina; seven great grandchildren, Cassie, Austin, Kyla, Allison, Waylon, Trevor and Jacob; four special friends, Brittany and Brianna Martin, Jordan and Courtney Payne; two step grandchildren, Monica and Lee Marshall; three step great-grandchildren, Karmyn, Charlie and Levi Marshall; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, June 22 at 3:30 P.M. with Rev. Bud Sizemore officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Powers Family Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
