SCALF, Johnny R. (1965 – 2019)

Mr. Johnny Reed Scalf, 53, of Davis Bend, passed away Friday morning, May 10, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.  He was the son of Shirley and Geraldine Patterson Scalf born on December 26, 1965 in Barbourville.

Johnny was a former merchant and a member of the Davis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing and watching movies.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Alice Patterson and Reed and Ruby Scalf.

Survivors include his parents, Shirley Scalf of Barbourville and Geraldine Scalf of Davis Bend; a sister, Dianna Wright and husband, David, of Corbin; a brother, Tommy Scalf and wife, Becky, of Davis Bend; two nieces, Rachel Reed and husband, Dustin, and Hanna Wright; a nephew, Jacob Scalf; great nieces, Madalyn Scalf, Ellie Ann Reed and Emma Rae Reed; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted at the Davis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday, May 15 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Dustin Reed, Rev. Waylon Hunter and Rev. Junior Kelly officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Hendrickson Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be his church family and friends.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and at the church Wednesday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
