
Mrs. Charlene Riley, 79, of Louisville, relocated to her heavenly home on Saturday, January 9, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Edna Carnes Messer and Leroy Mills at Walker.
She attended Knox Central High School and moved to Louisville after graduation to attend Spencerian College. Through her 30 plus years as a realtor, she touched many with her caring and kindness. It brought her great pleasure to help friends find their first home or their dream home. She was a beloved wife, cherished mother and much-loved grandmother who bravely fought lung cancer for 17 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Flem Messer and a special aunt, Dorothy Carnes.
She is survived by her dearly loved husband, Donald Riley; a daughter, Pam Jeanes and husband, Mike; granddaughter, Katelyn Jeanes; sisters, Sherry Moore and husband, Virgil, and Carolyn Gambrel; brothers, Darrell Messer and wife, Candy, and Joe Messer and wife, Charlotte; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted at the Owen Funeral Home in Louisville, Friday, January 15 at 1 P.M. She will be laid to rest in the Cave Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Owen Funeral Home Friday after 10 A.M. until the funeral hour.
Expressions of sympathy may go to the Kentucky Humane Society in her memory.
