PETERS JR, Jackie R. (1981 – 2019)

Mr. Jackie Ray Peters Jr., 38, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday morning, July 20, 2019 at his home.  He was the son of Jackie Peters and Donna Sue Dye Poole born on May 1, 1981 in Barbourville.

Jackie was a former coal truck driver, of the Baptist faith and attended the New Beginnings Worship Center.  He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, C. B. Dye, Floretta Farrell and Jake Foley.

Survivors include his parents, Jackie Peters of Walker and Donna Sue Poole and husband, Leonard, of White, GA; a sister, Teresa Miller and husband, Jason, of Davis Bend; two brothers, Tim Peters and wife, Johnnie Rae, of Girdler and Tyler Peters and wife, Priscilla, of Austell, GA; a child, he helped raise, Jacob Baker of Barbourville; his grandmother, Imogene Foley of Barbourville; nine nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, July 24 at 4 P.M. with Rev. Don Napier officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Fannon Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Tim Peters, Tyler Peters, Jacob Baker, Leonard Poole, Donald Slusher and Jackie Peters.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
