Mr. Paul David Patterson, 79, of Bimble, passed away Wednesday morning, June 10, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born November 8, 1946, the son of the late Bill and Ollie Cooper Patterson.

Paul was a carpenter and a member of the Old Time Baptist Church.  He enjoyed music, songwriting, playing the guitar and singing with his family.  He faithfully served in the Army National Guard of Kentucky.

On July 15, 1971, he united in marriage with Carolyn Hubbard and to this union three children were born.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Rodney Paul Patterson; a sister, Shirley Kelly and brothers, Ken, Roy and Billy Patterson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn Patterson; daughters, Sandra Shackleford and husband, Richard, and Paula Messer and husband, Chad; sisters, Carolyn Grubb and Linda Edwards; a brother, Gary Durham; treasured grandchildren, Hannah and Canaan Corey, Alyssa Mills and Camden Messer; a great granddaughter, Addie Jo Corey; special cousins, Mike and Calvin Cooper; along with many other relatives and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, June 12 at 7 P.M. with Rev. Rick Thomas and Rev. Charles Henson officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family members.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday after 5 P.M. until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
