Mr. Jack K. Partin Sr., 68, of Artemus, passed away Monday morning, October 2, 2023 at his home.  He was the son of the late Elbert Junior and Edna Mae Bennett Partin born on October 18, 1954 in Barbourville.

Jack was a custodian at Knox Central High School, a former Tru-Seal maintenance employee, a member of the United Steelworkers of America Local 8411 and attended the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.  He enjoyed hunting, working on projects for his wife around the house and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was also blessed by his time with the staff and students at Knox Central.  Jack was an avid UK fan and loved his dog, Max.

On January 5, 1974, he united in marriage with Lovella Gray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Bill Ed Partin.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 48 years, Lovella Partin of Artemus; three dearly loved children, Jack K. Partin Jr. and Karlie Troutman of Barbourville, Steve Partin and wife, Wendy, and Billy Partin and wife, Marlena, all of Artemus; a sister, Sheila Partin Manning and husband, Tom, of Williamsburg; a brother, Perry Partin of Corbin; four adored grandchildren, Amber Danielle, Kimber Addison, Kaylee Madison and Payton Rae Partin; former daughter-in-law, Rachel Pennington Partin; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, October 10 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Chester “Bud” Sizemore officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Jack Partin Jr., Steve Partin, Billy Partin, Donnie Martin, David Payne and Tony Parsons.  Honorary bearers will be Jason and Samantha Gambrel and all employees of the Knox County EMS.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Tuesday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
