Ms. Angela Renee Murphy, 47, of Frisco, TX, formerly of Knox County, passed away Monday morning, January 25, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was the daughter of the late Lee Gilbert and Charlene “Pat” Broughton Murphy born on March 4, 1973 in Detroit, MI.
Angela was a graduate of Knox Central High School and Eastern Kentucky University. At the time of her death, she was a Quality Compliance Analyst with Toyota Manufacturing North America and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her loving sister, Tanya Halcomb and husband, Ralph, and a treasured niece, Raley, all of Barbourville; several special aunts, uncles, cousins; among many other dear friends Angie considered family.
A private funeral service for family and close friends will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, January 31 with Rev. Ralph Halcomb and Rev. David Barnard officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Trey Broughton, Brian Hembree, John McVey, Danny Howard, Mike Carnes, Jeff Carnes, Jim Miles, Brian Murphy and Clinton Hobbs. Honorary bearers will be Andy and Johnny Miles and her team from Toyota Manufacturing North America.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Barbourville ARH Hospital and the University of Kentucky Medical Center for their excellent care.
Expressions of sympathy may go to either the Locust Grove Baptist Church, Girdler, KY or to the First Baptist Church Artemus, Artemus, KY in her memory.
