On December 14th, 2023, Juanita “Cricket” Kirk Muncy of Warfield passed away peacefully at the age of 86 surrounded by her loving family. Cricket was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Muncy. She was the matriarch of her family and loved her children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren more than life itself.

Cricket was the daughter of the late Everett and Mary Kirk of Lovely. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harlan Ray Kirk and Arthur Kirk and two sisters, Tonetta Nichols and Lois Mills; a daughter Shenna Marcum and two grandchildren, Charles Alvin Marcum and Shawn Messer.

She is survived by three brothers, Wibb Kirk and wife, Darla, of Lovely, Everett Kirk of Riverview, FL and Michael Kirk and wife, Sharon, of Inez; a brother-in-law, Bobby Nichols of Louisa; two sisters, Nancy and husband, Noah Dillon, of Lovely, and Patricia and husband, Harlan Marcum, of Inez.

Cricket also left two sons and two daughters to mourn her passing, Dennis Swisher of Warfield, Roy Swisher and wife, Jan, of Franklin, Ada Swisher Harless and husband, Jackie, of Coldwater, and Elsie Swisher Abner and husband, Sanford, of Heidrick and Landy Davis, who she loved like a daughter.

Cricket loved her grandchildren and supported and shared in all their success and triumphs. Grandchildren include Kevin Justice, Shannon Justice, Melinda Baisden, Jeff Harless, Jackie Michelle Wefenstette and husband, Jason, Anita Fitch, Thanh Swisher and wife, Phal, Ben Swisher and wife, Stephanie, Rachel James and husband, Phillip, Jennifer Abner, Buddy Abner and wife, Tracie, and Jamey Lee Marcum and wife, Jennifer.  She also had 24 great-grandchildren that meant the world to her. Four great-great grandchildren and another great-great grandchild expected soon.

Casket bearers will be Buddy Abner, Jeff Harless, Bobby Carter, Austin Baisden, Jamey Marcum and Brian Davis.

The family would like to thank the staff of Barbourville ARH Hospital including Dr. West, Dr. Pedersen of Baptist Health as well as all their friends and family who have loved and supported them.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the Warfield Chapel of the Callaham Funeral Home in Warfield Monday, December 18 at 1 P.M. with Lonnie Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Gardens in Inez.

Friends may visit at the chapel Sunday between 6 and 9 P.M.
