MILLS, Shirley Ann (1951 – 2019)

Mrs. Shirley Ann Mills, 67, of Hinkle, passed away Sunday morning, May 5, 2019 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.  She was the daughter of the late Loyd and Nollie Carmack Callebs born on November 14, 1951 at Hinkle.

Shirley was a bookkeeper and a member and piano play at the Dripping Springs Baptist Church.  She enjoyed painting pictures, tending flowers, working in the yard and was a Kentucky Colonel.

On September 15, 1969, she united in marriage with Nasby Mills and to this union two children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nasby; a son, Lloyd Mills; three sisters, Wanda Hensley, Anna Lois and Coreen Callebs and two brothers, Chester and Dewayne Callebs.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Smith and husband, Darrell, of Hinkle; a sister, Esselene Hammons and husband, Virgil, of Hinkle; sisters-in-law, Greta Callebs of Hinkle and Audrey Callebs of Kent, OH; a brother-in-law, Rev. Columbus Hensley of Corbin; four grandchildren, Nathan Lloyd Mills and wife, Lindsey, Tippori Hope Shepherd and husband, John, Devin Blake Smith and Ethan Darrell Smith; three great grandchildren, Angelynn Hope Mills, Christian Isaiah Blake Smith and Bristol Kaye Shepherd; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted at the Dripping Springs Baptist Church Wednesday, May 8 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Ricky Broughton, Rev. Vernon Morris, Rev. Columbus Hensley and Rev. Steven Honeycutt officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Callebs Creek Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Nathan Mills, John Shepherd, Adam Callebs, Devin Smith, Ethan Smith and Alford Mills.  Honorary bearers will be her church family and the staff of Norton Hospital.

Friends may call at the church Tuesday after 6 P.M. until the funeral hour Wednesday.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
