MILLS, Louise (1943 – 2019)

Mrs. Louise Mills, 76, of Cannon, passed away Thursday morning, September 26, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was the daughter of the late Bill and Susie Godby Chansler born on April 22, 1943 at Liberty.

Louise was a former seamstress with Warner’s, a member of the Green Road Baptist Church and a former member of the Hazel Patch Baptist Church.  She enjoyed reading and working puzzles.

On May 27, 1961, she united in marriage with Arnold Mills and to this union three children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; a daughter, Sandra Barton; a sister, June Mills and two brothers, J. R. Chansler and Oval Chansler.

Survivors include two children, Jeffery Mills and wife, Marguerite, of Cannon and Lisa Mink and husband, Arnold, of East Bernstadt; two sisters, Shirley Wilson of Cannon and Esther Chansler of Williamsburg; two brothers, Ray Chansler of Hamilton, OH and Lee Chansler and wife, Connie, of Barbourville; six grandchildren, Darnell Barton Jr. and wife, April, Brian Barton and wife, Ammie, David Mink, Sidney Coulter, Christian Mills and Phillip Mills; a great granddaughter, Amanda Barton; several special nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, September 28 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Randy Bingham and Rev. Dewayne Smith officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Patterson Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Billy Mills, Pat Mills, Tommy Mills, Dustin Mills, Jerry Mills and Bradley Smith.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
