Mrs. Kimberly Kay Sproles Mills, 53, of Gray, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 16, 2024 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Rev. Gilbert Chester and Shirley Ellen Hinkle Sproles born on June 11, 1971 in Barbourville.

Kim was a deputy clerk with the Knox County Clerk’s Office, a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church and attended the Living Waters Pentecostal Church.  Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, evident in her commitment to her church and witnessing to others about the Lord.  She found joy in singing, crafting and decorating.  She relished being outdoors whether it was camping or going to the beach.  Most of all, Kim cherished time she spent with her family and friends.

On July 6, 1991, she united in marriage with David Brenton Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Stewart; brothers, Charles Keith and Timothy Sproles and a brother-in-law, Dwight Stewart.

Survivors include her loving husband, David Mills of Gray; children, Morgan Mills and husband, Nicholas Karr, of Lily and Dylan Mills of Gray; a sister, Kathy Baker and husband, Lloyd “Junebug”, of Lily; a brother, Ronnie Sproles and wife, Dianne, of London; a sister-in-law, Kelly Sproles of Richmond; nieces and nephews, Justin, Derek, Josh, Ashley, Bub, Katie, Joey, Austin Shane, Jordan, Destiny and Nevaeh; among other cherished loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted at the Living Waters Pentecostal Church at Gray Sunday, July 21 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Charlie Humfleet and Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Justin Stewart, Derek Stewart, Josh Stewart, Brandon Collins, Austin Baker, Austin Bell, Josh Allen and Nicholas Sulfridge.  Serving as honorary bearers will be her great nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Sunday at the church after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
