Mrs. Elaine Joyce Mills, 66, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday morning, December 10, 2022 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Major and Julia Merida McVey born on August 18, 1956 in Knox County.

Joyce was a devoted homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She dearly enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Lee Mills Jr.; two sisters and six brothers.

Survivors include her loving husband, Ronnie L. Mills of Barbourville; two children, Jamie Lee Mills and wife, Angie, of Gray and Eric Travis Mills of Barbourville; four sisters, Wanda Engle and husband, Renus, of Bimble, Sue Gray of Barbourville, Alice Taylor of Winchester and Catholeen Hinton of Barbourville; a brother, Hobert McVey and wife, Helen, of Cannon; five grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, December 15 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Nick Honeycutt and Rev. Aaron Gray officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Obie Mills Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
