Mr. Bobby Ray Mills, 60, of Woollum, passed away Saturday morning, October 2, 2021 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was the son of Norma Jean Garrison Mills and the late Claude Mills born on May 31, 1961 in Manchester.
Bobby was a former saw operator with E K Wood Products and a member of the Horn Branch Baptist Church. He enjoyed doing auto body work, spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid UK basketball fan.
In October 1984, he united in marriage with Debbie Smith and to this union two children were born.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Mills.
Survivors include his loving mother, Norma Jean Mills of Woollum; two beloved children, Dustin Ray Mills and wife, Caitlyn, of Girdler and Brittany Belle Mills and fiancé, Jeffrey Alsip, of Corbin; three sisters, Brenda Taylor and husband, Lowell, of London, Janice Gregory and husband, Jabe, of Girdler and Lisa Smith and husband, Gary, of Woollum; five precious grandchildren, Alyssa, Elias, Carrigan, Piper Quinn and Easton; a brother-in-law, E. J. Mills; special friends, Michael Bright and family, Leroy Mills, Ray Dean Grubb, Steve Smith, Larry Hammons and family and Billy and Debbie Taylor; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, October 11 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Johnny Shell and Rev. Rick Broughton officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Nan Riley Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Doyle Taylor, Dewayne Smith, Travis Gregory, Berneil Mills, Vernon Lee Garrison, Roger McDonald, Hunter McDonald and Brody Osborne. Honorary bearers will be his church family at the Horn Branch Baptist Church.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Monday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
