Ms. Julie Renee Merida, 41, of Flat Lick, passed away Friday afternoon, October 7, 2022 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Bert Hobbs Jr. and Sandra Faye Garland Hobbs born on September 26, 1981 in Knox County.

Julie was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She enjoyed living on the farm and raising chickens.  She especially loved spending time with her granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Hobbs.

Survivors include two children, Shyann Merida of Ohio and Paige Merida of Flat Lick; two grandchildren, Raelynn Merida and Ava Cook, who is expected to arrive soon; the father of her children, Tim Merida; her boyfriend, McKinley Huckaby; special aunts and cousins; among other loved ones and dear friends including Glenda Shepherd and Anjelica Woods.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, October 12 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Charles Henson officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily.

Casket bearers will be Eli Vaughn, Trevor Hobbs, Tim Merida, Paul Bargo, Jordan Price, Cody Baker, Matt Blackburn, Zachary Burton, Anjelica Woods and Ron Garland.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
