MEDLIN, Daniel L. (1973 – 2019)

Mr. Daniel Lee “Runt” Medlin Jr., 46, of Barbourville, passed away Saturday morning, September 7, 2019 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.  He was the son of Daniel L. and Brenda Engle Medlin born on March 13, 1973 in Corbin.

Runt was a former heavy equipment operator and of the Baptist faith.  He enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing and racing.

On August 27, 2016, he united in marriage with Carmen Branstutter.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Whitley Paige Medlin and a son, Gary Wayne Medlin.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carmen Branstutter Medlin of Barbourville; his parents, Daniel and Brenda Medlin of Corbin; four children, Brooklyn Young and husband, Anthony, of Girdler, Samantha Nicole Corey and fiancé, Michael, of Blackwater, Joshua Corey and Shane Partin and wife, Lesa, all of Barbourville; two sisters, Denise Carter of Gray and Cindy Simmons and husband, Robert, of Corbin; a brother, Billy Medlin of Rockhold; four grandchildren, Carson Young, Jaxon Medlin, Bentley Medlin and Maverick Brock; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, September 11 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Ed Wayne Gibson officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Gray Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Shane Partin, Aaron Carter, Rodney Smith, Anthony Young, Michael Brock and Joshua Corey.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. West, Dr. Vora and the staff of the Barbourville ARH Hospital for their excellent care during his illness.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
