On September 5, 1992, he united in marriage with Deborah Cobb and to this union a daughter was born.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kenneth Cobb.

Survivors include his loving wife, Deborah McNett of Little Poplar Creek; a daughter, Morgan Shelton and husband, Matthew, of Artemus; a sister, Lisa Uphold and husband, Jim, of Hudson, MI; two grandchildren, Matthew and Kendaul; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Cobb Lane and husband, Thomas, of Little Poplar Creek; among other loved ones and dear friends.
