Mr. Easom McKeehan Jr., 91, of Bryants Store, passed away Sunday morning, November 20, 2022 at his home.  He was the son of the late Easom and Leona Miller McKeehan born on August 27, 1931 at Swan Pond.

Junior was a former coal truck driver and at the time of his death was the second oldest living member of the Little Poplar Creek Baptist Church.  He enjoyed working, playing bluegrass music, fox hunting, woodworking and mowing the grass.

On November 24, 1952, he united in marriage with Jincy Ellen Mahan, who preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Matlock and husband, Rabb, Thelma Powers and husband, H. D., and Gladys Reeves and husband, Bob; two brothers, Walter McKeehan and wife, Lillian, and Charles McKeehan and two daughters-in-law, Connie Sue Huddleston McKeehan and Brenda Kay Warren McKeehan.

Survivors include his dearly loved children, David Allen McKeehan and girlfriend, Theresa Crosman, Gary Wayne “Ted” McKeehan and wife, Shirley, and Larry Edward McKeehan and wife, Betty, all of Bryants Store; a sister-in-law, Reta McKeehan of Florida; several treasured grandchildren, Steve McKeehan and wife, Joy, Lisa McKeehan Lindsay and husband, Dave, Melanie McKeehan Howard and husband, Michael, Misty McKeehan, Malena Beth McKeehan Jones and husband, Chris, Teddi McKeehan, Makhyla McKeehan and Marcus McKeehan and wife, Lori; step grandchildren, Perry Joe Jackson and wife, Ashley, and Justin Jackson; several great grandchildren, Brittany McKeehan Foley and husband, Clinton, Jordan McKeehan and wife, Casey, Kobi Harris, Kyson Cofield, Jacob and Weston Lindsay, Faith and Hope McKeehan, Spencer, Hunter and Kennedy Howard, Hayden, Harrison and Holden Jones, Myan McKeehan, Deante Wilson, Max and Maverick McKeehan; step great grandchildren, Emily Matthew, Zachary and Hunter Jackson; four great-great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Emma, Reid and Kade Easom Foley; numerous nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted at the Little Poplar Creek Baptist Church Friday, November 25 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Ronnie Rose, Rev. Kennon Roark and Rev. Darrel Bargo officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the McKeehan Family Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Marcus McKeehan, Steve McKeehan, Jacob Lindsay, Kobi Harris, Jordan McKeehan, Spencer Howard and Harrison Jones.  Serving as honorary bearers will be his fox hunting and bluegrass music buddies and his church family.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 9 P.M. and at the church Friday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
