Mr. Jerry Dewayne Marion, 67, of Hinkle, passed away Monday morning, March 6, 2023 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was the son of the late John T. and Elsie Gray Marion born September 17, 1955 in Knox County.
Jerry was a farmer and of the Holiness faith. He loved the outdoors and working in his garden. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandkids.
In February of 1978, he united in marriage with Janet Brown and to this union two children were born.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a dearly loved son, Jerry “Jitter” Marion; grandparents, Whitley and Ethel Gray and Crit and Edna Marion; a sister, Brenda Marcum and two special brothers-in-law, Chris Gray and Link Canada.
Survivors include his loving daughter, Amy Hensley and husband, Denver, of Bimble; a special friend, Oda May Miller, of Hinkle; sisters, Wanda Bowling and husband, G.W., of Liberty, Nancy Grubb and husband, Dan, of Flat Lick, Eleanor Deaton of Bimble, Reda Lou Gray of Bimble and Dorothy Canada of Corbin; brothers, Johnny Marion of London, Benny Marion and wife, Lou, Frank Marion and wife, Judy, and Scotty Marion all of Hinkle; cherished grandchildren, Jeremiah, Connor, Caleb, Keith and Addison; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, March 10 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Rema Helton and Rev. Terry Davidson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Sizemore-Gray Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Robert Boles, Victor Marion, Jeremiah Coleman, Jeff Gray, Keith Siler, Charlie Marion, Gary Martin and Connor Coleman.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 6 until 9 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
