Mr. Lonnie G. Lockard, 75, of Artemus, passed away Tuesday morning, December 8, 2020 at his home.  He was the son of the late Dan and Mabel Clark Lockard born on April 25, 1945 in Knox County.

Lonnie was a former Tremco employee and a member and deacon of the Beech Springs Baptist Church.  He sang with and played the piano for the Soul Winners gospel group.  In addition, he would tune pianos and enjoyed working as a mechanic.  Lonnie loved everyone; especially his family and church family and everyone who knew him loved him as well.

On August 2, 1965, he united in marriage with Drucilla Osborne and to this union three children were born.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Drucilla Lockard; three beloved children, Dian Walters and husband, Richard, Lonnie Lockard Jr. and wife, Tonya, and Amy Lockard all of Artemus; his twin brother, Ronnie Lockard and wife, Carla, of Crossville, TN; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Following cremation, a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.

Please remember, per the Governor’s mandate effective November 20, 2020 all funeral services will be private.  Any person entering the funeral home is expected to be wearing a face covering of some kind at all times including graveside services and maintain the six feet of social distance.  We appreciate your help in following these guidelines so we can continue to serve our community during these trying times in the safest manner possible.
