Rev. Ronnie Dean Liford, 74, of Callebs Creek, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 10, 2021 at his home. He was the son of the late Lloyd and Belle Mills Liford born on August 30, 1946 in Knox County.
Dean was a carpenter and a member of God’s church. He was called to preach and pastored at several churches including Hughes Hill Holiness Church, Henderson Chapel and Clark’s Branch Holiness Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, visiting flea markets and collecting carnival glass.
On April 5, 1974, he united in marriage with Anna Mills and to this union a son was born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Dean Liford and his siblings, Verda Mae Jones, Norma Jean Doolin, Lonnie Liford, Irene Payne, Pauline Rhodes and Wayne Liford.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Anna Liford of Callebs Creek; three grandchildren, Dustin Hunter Liford, Jacob William Liford and Chloe Elizabeth Riley; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, June 15 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Tip Smith and Rev. Owen Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Dustin Liford, Cleveland Smith, Ronnie Payne, Garry Payne, Terry Payne, Jacob Liford and Tony Rhodes.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday between 5 and 8 P.M. and Tuesday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
