LAWSON, Jack Luther (1950 – 2019)
Mr. Jack Luther Lawson, 69, of Road Fork, Stinking Creek, passed away Tuesday morning June 4, 2019 at his home. He was the son of the late James Curtis and Millie Jane Marion Lawson born on March 18, 1950 at Trace Branch.
Jack was a bailer at American Greetings and a member of the Hinkle Branch Holiness Church. He enjoyed landscaping, hunting, fishing and watching westerns and NASCAR racing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies.
He united in marriage with Brenda Smith in 1970.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda of Road Fork; a son, Jack Lawson Jr. of Flat Lick; a daughter, Amy Mills Lester and husband, Mark, of Barbourville; brothers, TJ Lawson and the late Wilma Garland Lawson and Bill Lawson and wife, Thelma; three grandchildren, Patty Mills, Mary Jordan and husband, Nick, and Emily Mills; three great grandchildren, Nixon Jack and Nolan Ray Jordan and Brenna Faith Mills; a sister-in-law, Kathy Lawson; a brother-in-law, Larry Smith Sr. and wife, Pansy; among several nieces, nephews, loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, June 8 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Charles Bright and Rev. Donnie Mills officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Henry Mills Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Larry Smith Jr., Bobby Lawson, Jeff Ledford, Zachary Smith, James Smith, Mark Lester, Nick Jordan, and Colby Ledford. Honorary bearers will be members of the Stinking Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Brandy Burns, Brittany Pierson, Benny and Alfred of Hazard ARH, Jason and TJ Jordan, Junior Jackson, and the Knox County Ambulance Service.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
