Today we celebrate the life of Ms. Lorene Jones. Lorene had a loving personality and loved to make people laugh. She was a loving parent, grandparent, sister and believed in the Baptist faith.
Lorene was born June 12, 1936, to the late Robert and Vinia Huff Bailey. She lived in Pennington Gap, VA for several years and resided in Harlan County for more than 50 years. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1958 and then was a devoted wife and stay at home mother for the next 20 years. Later, she worked at the Laurels for 22 years and always found that job to be the most rewarding.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Harold Jones; her grandson, Brandon Jones and siblings, Harley, Herbert, Homer, George, Opal, Agnes Bailey and Christine Kirk.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children who adored her, Greg Jones and wife, Delia, of Barbourville and Anne Jones Ball of Harlan, loving grandchildren, Dr. Mark Wayne Ball and wife, Bana, of Rockville, MD and Ethan Anthony Cantini and girlfriend, Haley, of Lexington; two great grandchildren, Nikou and Nila Ball; a sister, Irene Bailey; a brother, Clark Bailey; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home Friday, October 18 at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, October 18 after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
