JOHNSON, Mildred J. (1943 – 2019)

Ms. Mildred J. Johnson, 76, of Swan Pond, passed away Thursday morning, December 26, 2019 at St. Joseph London.  She was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice Lickliter Johnson born on October 16, 1943 in Knox County.

Mildred was a homemaker and a member of the Swan Pond Baptist Church.  She enjoyed tending flowers, quilting and sewing.

On July 6, 1962, she united in marriage with Arthur Meeks and to this union three children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Braylen Garland; two sisters, Lois Mendoza and Stacy Glover and seven brothers, Andrew, James, Bill, Frank, Herbert, Ed and Lester Johnson.

Survivors include her loving children, Lloyd Meeks of Swan Pond, Paula Jean Wagers and husband, Harvey, of London and Frank Meeks of Manchester; a sister, Viola Lundy of Barbourville; a brother, Sawyer Johnson of Swan Pond; a granddaughter, Ashlyn Meeks; special sister-in-law, Doris Johnson; a special niece, Judy Mills; former daughter-in-law, Diana Rosskopf; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Scott Phipps and Joe Shields officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Hampton Cemetery at Swan Pond.

Casket bearers will be Billy Meeks, Adam Gray, Will Gray, Frank Lake and Jason Grubb.  Honorary bearers will be her friends and neighbors.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
