Mrs. Elsie Howard, 75, of Barbourville, the widow of Silas Howard Jr., passed away Monday evening, October 5, 2020 at the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was the daughter of the late Cecil and Margaret Jackson Broughton born on May 1, 1945 at Stinking Creek.

Elsie was a former homemaker and in earlier years could often be seen walking around Barbourville with her husband.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Erma Jewel Broughton and Shirley Monday and a brother, Preston Broughton.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

A graveside service will be conducted in the Hammons Cemetery at Flat Lick Wednesday, October 14 at 12 Noon with Rev. Eric Jordan officiating.

Friends may call at the cemetery prior to the service time.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
