
Mrs. Margaret Hamlin Hopkins, 81, of Morristown, TN, formerly of Barbourville, the wife of David Hopkins and the widow of William “Bill” Hamlin, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 28, 2022 at the Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Flora Lee Moore born on November 30, 1940 in Knox County.
Margaret was a former English teacher with the Knox County Board of Education and a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Morristown, TN. She enjoyed singing, listening to music, traveling and never missed an opportunity to redecorate. She read her Bible daily and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Denvil Moore and a granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Bowman.
Survivors include her loving husband, David Hopkins of Morristown, TN; two daughters, Dione Bowman and husband, Bobby, of Corbin and Darolyn Desgroseilliers and husband, Richard, of Morristown, TN; a sister, Mary McDaniel and husband, Ron, of Morristown, TN; a brother, Gilbert Moore and wife, Beverly, of London; grandchildren, Amanda Catchings and husband, Omar, Emily Bowman and William Gerald and Lilian Margaret Desgroseilliers; a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones and dear friends.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Rose Cemetery Monday, October 3 at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Bennie Bush and her granddaughters officiating.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the cemetery Monday after 1 P.M. until the service time.
Expressions of sympathy may go to The Gideons International in her memory.
