HOBBS, Sandra Faye (1950 – 2019)

Mrs. Sandra Faye Hobbs, 68, of Flat Lick, passed away Friday afternoon, September 27, 2019 at Saint Joseph London.  She was the daughter of the late Harve and Julia Taylor Garland born on November 20, 1950 in Barbourville.

Sandra was a former teacher’s aide at Flat Lick Elementary School and a member of the Concord Baptist Church.  She enjoyed reading, fishing and shopping.

On September 8, 1975, she united in marriage with Bert Hobbs Jr. and to this union two children were born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Jay Hobbs.

Survivors include her loving husband, Bert Hobbs Jr. of Flat Lick; a daughter, Julia Merida and husband, Tim, of Flat Lick; three sisters, Nola Hampton and husband, Tommy, of Barbourville, Sharon Rogers of Barbourville and Brenda Bargo of Heidrick; a brother, Gary Wayne Garland of Gray; two grandchildren, Paige and Shyann Merida; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, September 30 at 12 noon with Rev. Charles Henson officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers will be Tim Merida, Paul Steven Bargo, Ron Garland, Carl Payne, David Gray and Kenneth Garland.  Honorary bearers will be her friends and neighbors.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Monday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
