HECK, William “Moonie” (1961 – 2019)
Mr. William “Moonie” Heck, 58, of Flat Lick, passed away Thursday morning, October 10, 2019 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Lloyd and Doris Marlow Heck born on May 20, 1961 in Middlesboro.
Moonie was a former truck driver with Patterson Chip Company, a former miner at Bell County Coal Company and was a member of the Bethesda Baptist Church. He enjoyed being around people and playing music.
On August 8, 1988, he united in marriage with Betty Hale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Ross; a sister, Darlene Warwick; two brothers, Jim and Jerry Heck; four sisters-in-law, Joann, Joyce, Katherine and Ruth Heck; a grandson, Robert Matthew Gregory; a nephew, Jonathon Heck and two nieces, Melissa and Melinda Gail Heck.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Heck of Flat Lick; a daughter, Dolly Gregory and husband, Robert, of Woollum; three sisters, Kathy Brooks and husband, Dale, Beverly Marcum and Tammy Heck all of Middlesboro; six brothers, Don Heck of Belleville, MI, Wade Dunn of St. Ann, MO, Charles Heck and wife, Cheryl, of Tennessee, David Heck, Lonnie Heck and Bruce Heck all of Middlesboro; a brother-in-law, Terry Warwick of Tennessee; a granddaughter, Melanie Gregory of Woollum; among many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted at the Bethesda Baptist Church Monday, October 14 at 2:30 P.M. with Rev. Rodney Davis and Rev. Gary King officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Farley Cemetery at Himyar.
Casket bearers will be Ryan Mays, Robert Gregory, Travis Heck, Vance Heck, Dennis Heck and Duane Heck.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday between 6 and 9 P.M. and at the church Monday after 12 noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
