Mr. McKinley Lee Hammons, 52, of Central City, formerly of Barbourville, passed away Monday morning, January 8, 2024 at the Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital.  He was the son of the late Ruby Mae Hopkins Hammons born on November 14, 1971 in Pineville.

Lee enjoyed fishing, riding his bike, drinking coffee and Pepsi and loved eating at McDonald’s.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janie Hope Kersey.

Survivors include a sister, Donna Hammons of Walker and two brothers, Rickie Hammons and wife, Ida, of Gray and Jeffrey Todd Hammons of Walker; among many other loved ones including his children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
