Mrs. Anna Lois Hammons, 76, of Himyar, passed away Tuesday morning, February 22, 2022 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Mary Gray Cooper born on January 9, 1946 at Baughman.

Anna was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  She was a caring person who always tried to help others.  She enjoyed quilting, knitting and telling jokes.

On December 30, 1972, she united in marriage with Arnold Lee Hammons Jr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Charles Cooper.

Survivors include her loving husband of over 49 years, Arnold L. Hammons Jr. of Himyar; a sister, Geraldine Honeycutt of Greenville, OH; a brother, Robert Cooper and wife, Virginia, of Bronston; a special friend she loved as a daughter, Tina Mills and husband, Bobby; several cherished nieces, nephews and cousins; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, February 27 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Scott Dunn and Rev. Tim Phipps officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be David Cooper, Gary Cooper, Kevan Bingham, Keith Bingham, Marvin Osan, Ryan Bingham and Darrell Callebs.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
