Mrs. Katherine Shirley Hale, 94, of Cadillac, MI, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.  Katherine was born in Knox County on December 31, 1929 to the late John Will and Ota West Detherage.

She united in marriage with Everett Eugene Hale on May 4, 1946 and to this union one child was born, Michael Hale.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Everett Eugene “Jack” Hale; brother, Joe L. Detherage; brother-in-law, Roy Hale and sisters, Charlotte J. West Merritt and infant twins, Brenda and Linda Detherage.

Katherine is survived by her loving son, Michael Hale of Cadillac MI; sisters, Joyce J. Hale of Brighton, MI and Jane Mills and husband, Michael, of Barbourville; sister-in-law, Clara Detherage of Barbourville; nieces and nephews, Jack Parrott and wife, Vicki, of Orlando FL, Steve Hale and wife, Mary, of Brighton, MI, Malinda Mastako and husband, Randy, of Brighton, MI, Beverly West McGowen and husband, Gary, of Corbin, Judy West of Corbin, John Carl Detherage of Ohio, Cheryl Landon and husband, Michael, of Tennessee; Kimberly Messer and husband, Rodney, of Barbourville and David Michael Mills and wife, Vicki, of Barbourville; among other loved ones and dear friends.
