Mr. Mack Gray, 80, of Barbourville, passed away Friday morning, February 4, 2022 at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT. He was the son of the late William Jack and Myrtle Smith Gray born on February 12, 1941 at Flat Lick.
Mack was a member of the Old Flat Lick Baptist Church. He enjoyed running, hiking, bird watching and restoring his 1968 Ford pick-up truck. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army. Mack enjoyed traveling the world with Donnie, visiting Germany, Japan, Italy, Spain and various places in the United States.
In 1963, he united in marriage with Bonnie Louise Burgess and to this union three children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, James, Dorthy and Paul Gray.
Survivors include his beloved children, Donnie Gray and wife, Blanca, of Ogden, UT, Maxine Gray of Barbourville and Michael Gray of Johnson City, TN; former wife and life-long friend, Bonnie Gray of Barbourville; sisters, Pauline Mills, Effie Adams and Ruby Sopha all of Michigan; dearly loved grandchildren, Travis Cutter and wife, Faye, Bonita, Isabella and Sofia Gray and Carlos Lopez and wife, Ashley; great grandchildren, Tristan and Skyler Cutter and Jeremiah, Jordan and Aryanna Lopez; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, February 15 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Mike Collins officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery with military funeral honors.
Casket bearers will be Donnie Gray, Aaron Gray, George Gray, Travis Cutter, Carlos Lopez, Dallas Lewis and Paul Bays. Serving has an honorary bearer will be Michael Gray.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Tuesday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
