Sarah Frances Yeager Donaldson, 89, of Villa Hills, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021.  Sarah was the 6th child born to John Franklin Yeager and Anna “Annie” Ruth (Kelly) Yeager on February 18, 1932 at Hinkle.  She was named after the midwife who attended her birth.

She was a retired administrative assistant with the V.A. Hospital in Lexington and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Sarah Frances graduated from Knox Central High School in 1950.  After graduating, she wanted to further her education and took a correspondence course so she could work in the Civil Service. She received many awards and commendations in the various jobs of her long career in the Civil Service including jobs with the Department of Education (District of Columbia), Army Corps of Engineers and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Lexington.  Upon her retirement, Sarah Frances devoted her life to caring for her beloved sister, Clara Janet Yeager in Lexington.  She loved to travel and attend plays and concerts with her friends in Lexington.  Because of her love of books, she took classes at the University of Kentucky in creative writing.  She and Clara Janet also shared a great love for needle arts and crafts and making many gifts for family and friends.  The two also spearheaded efforts to gather the descendants of the Yeager clan for an annual family reunion.

After Clara Janet’s death, Sarah Frances moved to Independence to be closer to other family members.  She was a devout member of the St. Patrick’s Church in Taylor Mill and spent her free time researching the family genealogy and histories as a member of the Knox County Historical Society and the Germania group.  Sarah Frances moved to Madonna Manor in Villa Hills prior to her death.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Mat Yeager and John Frank Yeager; sisters, Edith Yeager Craig, Pauline Yeager Moore, Helen Kathleen Yeager Green, Clara Janet Yeager, Cora Rebecca Yeager Jones and Dorthea Yeager and a niece, Karen Yeager Krause.
