Ms. Jacqueline C. Doane, 49, of Cannon, passed away Thursday morning, October 12, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.  She was the daughter of Geraldine Partin Smith and the late Cecil Curtis “Pete” Smith born on June 25, 1974 in Dearborn, MI.

Jackie was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  In earlier years, she was a birthing technician at the Knox County Hospital.  She was full of life and loved to sing and dance.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her life partner, Larry Wayne Black; two sisters, Sharon Fisher and Cynthia Adkins and two brothers, Robert Hubbard and Cleveland Smith.

Survivors include her mother, Geraldine Smith of Cannon; loving daughter, Leah Messer and husband, Patrick, of Cannon; bonus children, Tonya Womack and husband, Jeff, Sonya Dray and Chris Black and wife, Brittany, all of Harrogate, TN; three sisters, Melissa Mills of Cannon, Tammy Leighton and husband, Kevin, of Myrtle Beach, SC and Teresa Jarvis of Corbin; two brothers, Rodney Hembree of Heidrick and Earl Smith of Barbourville; four treasured grandchildren, Charles West II, Jasmine Messer, Annastyn Hollin and Shiloh Messer; special nieces, Malinda Black, Melissa Hibbard and Jess Hubbard; special friends, Don Messer, Janice Shelton and Laura Wyatt; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, October 16 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Aaron Gray officiating.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

The family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
