Mr. Johnny Lynn Cowell, 75, of Corbin, passed away Friday morning, August 7, 2026 at Baptist Health Corbin.  He was born December 11, 1950 in Dyersburg, TN, the son of the late J. B. and Rosalee Williams Cowell.

Lynn was a retired pharmacist and a member of the First Baptist Church of Corbin.  He enjoyed being out of doors hunting and fishing and had a love for cars.  He was known to be kindhearted and always kept his family first.

On November 26, 1976, he united in marriage with Mary Hadley Engle and to this union a daughter was born.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Cash Hart and parents-in-law, Hadley and Cheslea Engle.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 49 years, Mary Hadley Cowell of Corbin; a dearly loved daughter, Joy Hart and husband, David, of Corbin; brother, Joe Cowell and wife, Cynthia, of Dyersburg, TN; treasured grandson, Silas Hart; among many other loved ones and dear friends.

His service will be conducted in the chapel at the Barbourville Cemetery Monday, August 10 at 5:30 P.M. with Rev. Josh Pollitt officiating.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may go to either the Knox-Whitley Animal Shelter, First Baptist Church of Corbin or Central Baptist Church of Corbin in his memory.
