CARRIVEAU, Charles H. “Chuck” (1927 – 2019)

Mr. Charles H. “Chuck” Carriveau, 91, of Barbourville, passed away Friday morning, May 24, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was the son of the late James William and Mary Jane Mousseau Carriveau born on November 21, 1927 in Hale, MI.

Charles was a long-time employee of Gray Metal Company and of the Catholic faith.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.

On November 27, 1980, he united in marriage with Alma Matlock and to this union a daughter was born.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Hopper.

Survivors include his loving wife, Alma, of Barbourville; four children, Barbara Renee Turnbull and husband, Matthew, of Columbus, OH, Sheila Wyatt and husband, Dwayne, of Gray, James Partin and Boyd Richardson both of Barbourville; a grandson, David Wyatt of Gray; two great grandchildren, Jonathan Hubbs and Taylor Davis both of Corbin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ronnie and Jackie Matlock, Barbara and George Peace, Mary and Leslie Brown all of Barbourville, Karen and Ronnie Gibson, Peggy and Gary Helton and Bobby Matlock all of Flat Creek and Debbie Lawson and Wendell Gregory of Flat Lick; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, May 28 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Ronnie Rose officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Hutchins Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Bobby Matlock, Gary Helton, Wendell Gregory, David Wyatt, Matthew Turnbull and James Shaun Partin.  Honorary bearers will be George Peace, Leslie Brown, Ronnie Matlock and Ronnie Gibson.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

The family would like to thank Dr. Maria Atienza and nurses and the Knox County Home Health for their excellent care.

Expressions of sympathy may go to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
