Ms. Deanza Lynn Burke, 59, of Gray, passed away Sunday morning, July 31, 2022 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Bill and Helen Marie Disney Burke born on October 29, 1962 in Santa Cruz, CA.

Dee Dee was a member of the Bethesda Baptist Church.  She enjoyed watching old movies on her iPad, going out to eat and to the park, singing, dancing and planning her “wedding” with John from Emergency, Major Nelson from I Dream of Jennie, Captain Kirk from Star Trek, Captain Stubing from The Love Boat, Batman and Underdog.  Dee Dee made an impression on everyone she met.  If she knew you were sick, she would lay her hands on you and pray and she would comfort you, if she knew you were sad.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Rebecca Kaye Gambrel; a nephew, James Nathaniel Asher and two brothers-in-law, Jim Pickard and Terry Miracle.

Survivors include her loving sisters, Teresa Reynolds and husband, Wayne, of West Liberty, Marie Gambrel and husband, Sam, of Sparta, Sue Pickard of Gray, Barbara Miracle of Artemus and Elizabeth Hatfield and husband, Thomas, of Gray; nieces and nephews, Jacob and Kathy Phipps, Sam, April and Hope Gambrel, Mandy Helton, Angie Bill, Jessica Bargo, Cameron and Madison Hatfield and Aaron Miracle; several great nieces and nephew including Deanza’s “Baby”, Zander Bill; caregivers, Savanna Jones and Kim Bullis; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral home Friday, August 5 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Gary King officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Disney Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 1 P.M. until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
