BRUCE, Sally J. (1944 – 2019)

Mrs. Sally J. Bruce, 74, of London, passed away Tuesday morning, July 23, 2019 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.  She was the daughter of the late Alton and Marie Patterson Kilgore born on November 29, 1944 at Kay Jay.

Sally was a homemaker and baptized into the Baptist faith on June 16, 1957.  She enjoyed collectibles, yard sales, flea marks and spending time with family.

On June 8, 1963, she united in marriage with George D. Bruce and to this union a son was born.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Barton and Alma Jean Brooks; a brother, Thomas Eugene Kilgore and a brother-in-law, Rev. Ray Powers.

Survivors include her loving husband, George D. Bruce of London; a son, Douglas W. Bruce of London; three sisters, Lillian Hembree and husband, Albert, and Joan Powers all of Trosper and Sharon Duke and husband, Charles, of Daphne, AL; two brothers, Joseph Alton Kilgore and wife, Charlotte, of Gray and Jerry Kilgore and wife, Brenda, of London; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, July 27 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Dale Phipps officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Burch-Alford Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Saturday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
