Mr. Ted Brown, 74, of Gray, passed away Saturday evening, November 19, 2022 at his home.  He was the son of the late Isom Lee and Hazel Dora Dye Brown born on August 4, 1948 in Knox County.

Ted was the former owner and operator of Brown’s Equipment and Leasing, a member of the New Covenant Church and faithfully served in the United States Army.  He enjoyed working and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Katrina Danielle Brown; three sisters, Louella Brown, Geneva Bell and Mary Hamilton; three brothers, James Thomas, Kenneth and Doug Brown and a grandson, Jared Carruba.

Survivors include his dearly loved children, Kevin Brown and fiancé, Bessie Baldwin, of Rockholds, Melissa Yeager and husband, Jerry, of Barbourville and Anthony Brown of Gray; four sisters, Linda Robins of Cincinnati, OH, Wanda Carter and husband, A. Y., of Barbourville, Pansy Hefley of Indiana and Shirley McElfresh and husband, Scotty, of Lexington; two brothers, Arnold Brown of Barbourville and Alvin Brown of Artemus; seven grandchildren, Brionica, Kaiden, Tucker, Kevin, Joseph, Nathan and Bristol; among other loved ones and dear friends.

The Brown family will welcome friends at the funeral home Tuesday, November 22 between 6 and 8 P.M. with cremation following.  Inurnment will be private in the Powers Cemetery with military funeral honors.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
